Adobe and Google have released details regarding their combined effort for the Flash player on the Linux platform, the plans point to a single API for hosting plugins within the browser.

Flash is alive and well no thanks to Adobe PR
Despite Adobe’s best efforts to badly communicate with the public yet again, Adobe Flash, AIR and Flex is alive and well. they are only stopping development of the Flash mobile player which really means Android and Motorola web browsers that currently play flash content.
Adobe is focusing more on Flash platform development for the desktop and installed applications, which really means the AIR platform and the packagers for iOS and Android install applications.
There are many stories, blogs and articles around the web but I suggest people actually read the Adobe press releases rather than jump to conclusions from people and sites that are either ill informed or just plain wrong.

Personally, I actually think this is the right thing to do and focus more on application development than trying to optimize the player for web playback on mobile devices.
Adobe announces Creative Suite 5.5
Adobe today announced Creative Suite 5.5 with an availability date of mid May.
I can only comment with any great depth on Flash Builder 4.5 and Flash Catalyst 5.5 as I have the privilege of being a member of the pre-release program, I continue to be impressed with the applications and development teams, the features and attention to detail in these releases is amazing. To give you a taste here is a list of some of the major new features in the suite, I recommend you also visit the Adobe site and get an in depth deep dive into the new versions. You can expect new videos on uibuzz.com covering the new features in the near future. Previous CS5 products that do not have a 5.5 update are not listed but are still available in the various editions of the suites.
